Within OCI, the Virtual Networking team is responsible for delivering innovative networks with high performance characteristics that exceed those of our competitors.We're looking for an experienced engineering manager to lead and support our Network Load Balancer Data Plane (DP) team. You'll help grow a highly available, massive scale, integrated cloud service in a distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment.You will bring experience in leading engineering teams, including hands-on technical management and on-call experience. You have technical experience with high-performance, mission-critical networking environments. You demonstrate strong ownership, solid communication skills, and a bias for action. You're comfortable leading projects, communicating with senior leadership, and growing your team.Responsibilities:Engineering and project management: Work with customers and stakeholders to understand their feature requirements and pain points. Build roadmaps and make priority tradeoffs to deliver those features. Plan and drive engineering projects to successfully deliver that value to our customers, while managing risks and blockers along the way.People management: Forecast staffing needs, and work with our recruiting teams to hire those positions. Handle coaching and performance management for the engineers on your team.Process improvement: Work across engineering teams to identify and resolve systemic problems and bottlenecks, to improve our overall engineering velocity and efficiency.Qualifications:2+ years of engineering management experience4+ years in networking operations and management, including on-call supportExcellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skillsBachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering fieldFamiliarity with network packet processing pipeline (Layer-2 switching, Layer-3 routing, Load balancing, Address translations) preferred.Working familiarity with network virtualization, network protocols, and distributed systemsDisclaimer:Certain US customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates.Range and benefit information:US: Hiring Range: from $84,700 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
