WHAT IS THE INDEPENDENT OFFICE OF APPEALS (AP) DIVISION?A description of the business units can be found at:Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas:Independent Office of AppealsCase and Operations SupportSpecialized Exam Prog and RefCollection AppealsExamination AppealsThe following are the duties of this position at the full working level:Holds conferences and negotiates issues with taxpayers/representatives to resolve tax disputes in a fair and impartial manner.Advises and coaches team members regarding their team assignments, providing appropriate and substantive feedback on team assignments.Communicates and fosters dialogue with peers, customers, and partners, leading several teams that work cases.Conditions of EmploymentTelework Eligible Positions:

Employees must meet and sustain IRS telework eligibility requirements.Must be a U.S. Citizen or National and provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.Must successfully complete a background investigation, including a FBI criminal history record check.Employment of any candidate selected for this position may be conditional on classification and/or audit of federal tax returns.QualificationsYou must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07:

You must have at least one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service.OR

One year of graduate education in a related field of study.OR

Superior Academic Achievement may be met by having a Bachelor's degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.OR

Combination of qualifying graduate education and experience.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09:

You must have at least one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service.OR

Master's or equivalent graduate degree or two years of progressively higher-level education leading to a graduate degree.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11:

Specialized experience includes: one year at GS-09 level.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-12:

Specialized experience includes: one year at GS-11 level.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-13:

You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-15:
