Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year

A bit about us:

As a Senior Property Accountant in the Commercial Real Estate division, you will play a pivotal role in our Mortgage Industry team. Your expertise in financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, general ledger, CAM reconciliations, and lease accounting will be crucial in maintaining the financial health of our portfolio of properties. Your role will not just be limited to crunching numbers but will also involve strategizing and problem-solving to ensure the profitability and growth of our assets. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.

The ideal Senior Accountant has experience utilizing Yardi, as well as experience working in commercial real estate. The Senior Accountant has experience reviewing leases, as well as CAM reconciliations and property accounting. This is an ideal role for someone looking to grow from a strong Staff Accountant into a Senior Accountant role or a current Senior Accountant looking for long term advancement. This company is growing tremendously and this is a position due to growth within the team! This position is hybrid-working 3 days a week in office and 2 days/week remote.

Are you an experienced Property Accountant with a passion for commercial real estate and a knack for numbers? We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our fast-paced, high-energy team in the mortgage industry. This full-time role will offer you the opportunity to utilize your accounting prowess and leadership skills, while also allowing you to make significant contributions to our financial success. You will be responsible for a diverse range of financial tasks, including financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, General Ledger, CAM Reconciliations, and lease accounting.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Property Accountant, you will be entrusted with a variety of responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and manage all aspects of the accounting functions for a portfolio of commercial properties.
  2. Prepare and review monthly financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
  3. Perform month-end close procedures, including account reconciliations and analysis of financial statement accounts.
  4. Manage and maintain the General Ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reflected.
  5. Handle CAM Reconciliations and tenant billings, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  6. Oversee lease accounting, including calculation of rent escalations and tenant reimbursements.
  7. Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.
  8. Provide financial insights and recommendations to management for decision-making purposes.
  9. Continually improve systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting processes.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Senior Property Accountant role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, preferably within the commercial real estate sector.
  3. Extensive experience with financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, General Ledger, CAM Reconciliations, and lease accounting.
  4. Proficiency in using property management accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately compile and interpret financial data.
  6. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  7. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial colleagues.
  8. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
  9. CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
