We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, global organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various aspects of tax accounting and compliance, including statutory, premium, GAAP, and tax filings. This individual will be responsible for the preparation and review of tax returns, the reconciliation of tax accounts, and the maintenance of tax records. As a key member of our Finance team, you will play a critical role in driving our tax strategy and ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare/review various tax workpapers and supporting documents in support of federal and state tax filings and quarterly provisions.
  2. Prepare/review payments of tax filings and maintain documentations.
  3. Prepare/review quarterly income tax account reconciliations.
  4. Coordinate between various internal/external parties and service providers.
  5. Conduct tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  6. Support GAAP and statutory financial statement audits.
  7. Support in preparation of schedules/responses related to tax audits, inquiries, and tax notices.
  8. Support the tax team’s goals and objectives by assisting Tax Manager with special projects and ad hoc assignments.
  9. Train and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  2. Minimum of 4 years of experience in preparing and/or reviewing federal income tax, state income tax and/or insurance premium tax is required.
  3. Experience in preparing quarterly income tax provision in accordance with GAAP and statutory accounting rules (ASC 740 and SSAP 101)
  4. Insurance industry experience required. Life & Annuity Industry experience, preferred.
  5. Must have strong Microsoft Excel skills. Experience in OneSource, Premium Pro, and/or Lawson is a plus.
  6. CPA candidate, preferred.
  7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  8. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Proven ability to execute within time constraints and continually manage multiple priorities.
