Our healthcare organization is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Permanent Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic team. You will be working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment where your expertise in physical therapy will contribute towards improving the health and well-being of our patients. This role is ideal for someone who has a passion for helping others and wants to make a significant impact on the quality of life of our patients. You will be working closely with experienced Physical Therapists to implement and coordinate treatment plans, focusing on orthopedic and geriatric rehabilitation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist Physical Therapists in providing direct patient care, including treatments and rehabilitative exercises.
  2. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and modify individual patient care plans.
  3. Instruct and motivate patients during physical therapy sessions to improve their overall health and wellness.
  4. Monitor patient progress, document observations, and report any changes or unusual findings to the Physical Therapist.
  5. Implement and manage programs related to orthopedic and geriatric rehabilitation.
  6. Educate patients and their families about what to expect from the recovery process and how best to cope with challenges.
  7. Maintain a clean and safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  8. Ensure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs.

Qualifications:

  1. An associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  2. Must possess a current Physical Therapist Assistant license.
  3. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, particularly in orthopedic and geriatric rehabilitation.
  4. Outstanding patient care skills and the ability to work in a team.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with patients, families, and other members of the health care team.
  6. Strong knowledge of physical therapy equipment and aids.
  7. Ability to handle physical workload and long hours.
  8. A compassionate and empathetic personality with a dedication to providing the highest standard of care.
  9. CPR and first aid certification.
  10. Proficiency in electronic medical records software would be advantageous.
