Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our team in the chemical manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities of the company. This includes the preparation of current financial reports as well as summaries and forecasts for future business growth and general economic outlook. This role requires someone with a strong background in finance, accounting, and business management. The Controller will report directly to the CFO and will have the opportunity to significantly impact our organization’s financial performance and growth.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee all financial operations of the company including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  2. Implement and maintain all necessary internal controls to safeguard the company's assets.
  3. Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  4. Develop and manage financial systems/models using MicroStrategy, JD Edwards, and other ERP systems.
  5. Execute continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting and data analysis.
  6. Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
  7. Evaluate and advise on the financial impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs, and regulatory action.
  8. Manage international finance and tax activities to optimize financial performance and strategic position.
  9. Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies across all areas of the business.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA highly preferred.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  3. Proven experience in financial reporting, forecasting, corporate finance, and cost accounting.
  4. Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and other financial regulations.
  5. Proficient in MicroStrategy, JD Edwards, and other ERP systems.
  6. Experience with international finance and tax.
  7. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and guide a team.
  8. Strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  9. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  10. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence senior executives.
