We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Permanent Test Technician to join our Manufacturing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a keen interest in the manufacturing industry, specifically in low and medium voltage power distribution equipment. This role will be responsible for modifying test articles, conducting routine maintenance, and working with power distribution. The successful candidate will also be proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, metal fabrication, and operating machines such as press brake, forming machine, and bending machines.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform testing on medium voltage power distribution equipment and provide accurate results.
  2. Modify test articles according to the specified requirements and ensure their functionality.
  3. Carry out routine maintenance on all manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.
  4. Interpret and understand electrical schematics to diagnose and troubleshoot faults.
  5. Handle metal fabrication tasks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
  6. Operate machinery including press brake, forming machine, and bending machines.
  7. Document all test procedures and results for future reference and continuous improvement.
  8. Collaborate with the engineering team to resolve any issues that may arise during testing.
  9. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  10. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements to ensure our processes remain cutting edge.

Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
  2. Proven experience with medium voltage power distribution equipment.
  3. Proficiency in modifying test articles and performing routine maintenance.
  4. Solid understanding of power distribution and electrical schematics.
  5. Demonstrated experience in metal fabrication.
  6. Hands-on experience with press brake, forming machine, and bending machines.
  7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  8. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  9. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  10. Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to team goals.
  11. Willingness to stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements.
  12. Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items and work for extended periods.
  13. A degree in a relevant field would be an added advantage.
