Job Details

A well-established engineering firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join their team. The role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to quality and efficiency in managing office and field projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage technical staff, including survey field crews and draftsmen.
  • Oversee project budgets and schedules, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery.
  • Perform quality assurance and control for all assigned projects.
  • Manage client communications and ensure project goals are met.
  • Conduct survey research, computations, and draft reviews, including ALTA surveys, right-of-way plans, easement plats, and construction stakeout.
  • Develop fees, write proposals, and solicit new business opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and QA/QC standards.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (California).
  • 5-10 years of experience in land surveying and team management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or related field.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Trimble equipment, and other surveying tools (laser scanning, drones a plus).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
