Job Details:

As a Permanent Survey Party Chief, you will have the exciting opportunity to lead our team of survey technicians in the Engineering industry. This role requires a dynamic individual who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all surveying tasks. You will be responsible for performing a variety of land survey operations including determining precise location and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, mapmaking, land division, titles, and other purposes.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of survey technicians, ensuring their safety and training them on proper surveying procedures and equipment usage.
• Perform detailed research of land records and previous survey records to obtain data needed for surveys.
• Conduct right-of-way, control profiles, cross sections, and topographic surveys.
• Perform complex calculations and measurements to determine property boundaries, elevations, and other geographical data.
• Locate property corners, lines, and easements, and mark them as necessary.
• Prepare comprehensive reports detailing surveying activities, findings, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to ensure all surveying activities align with project goals and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards in all surveying operations.
• Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment to ensure its accuracy and reliability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Survey Party Chief or in a similar role in the Engineering industry.
• Proficient in using modern surveying equipment, GPS, and AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of surveying laws, rules, and regulations.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Exceptional mathematical skills and spatial understanding.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and terrains.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as needed.
• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license is preferred.
