We are on the hunt for a dedicated and experienced Permanent Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic team in the Construction Industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to bring their expertise to a company that values innovation, quality, and teamwork. The Assistant Project Manager will play a vital role in overseeing all aspects of our construction projects, from planning to execution, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. You will be working closely with Project Managers and other team members to ensure that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in all phases and aspects of the project.
  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors to ensure standards of building performance, quality, cost schedules and safety are maintained.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of construction projects.
  • Work closely with architects and engineers to go over plans and blueprints, making timetables for the project, determining material and labor costs, negotiating with and hiring subcontractors and workers, scheduling workers on site, gathering permits and making sure all regulations are met.
  • Carry out daily operational tasks in an effective and timely manner.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the project team and the client.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and cost estimates.
  • Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date.
  • Oversee the delivery of materials and equipment to construction sites.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
  • Handle any environmental or local community issues that may come up during a project.
  • Conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Construction Industry, with a focus on Construction Management.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of construction management processes, means and methods.
  • Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with construction/ project management software.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • A team player with leadership abilities.
  • PMP or equivalent certification would be considered an advantage.
  • Proven experience in project management and familiarity with construction procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong safety record and ability to enforce stringent safety protocols.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
