Job Details:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Energy Development Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the energy industry and a passion for renewable energy development. This position will primarily focus on supporting the development and financing of renewable energy projects, particularly in the area of power purchase agreements, energy transactions, international trade restraints, and withheld restraint orders. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment where your contributions will have a direct impact on the future of renewable energy.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of renewable energy development matters including power purchase agreements, energy transactions, international trade restraints, and withheld restraint orders.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review various legal documents and contracts related to renewable energy development.
  • Work closely with the business development team to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Conduct legal research and provide legal opinions on various matters related to renewable energy development.
  • Manage external legal counsel as required.
  • Provide training to internal teams on relevant legal matters.
  • Participate in the structuring and execution of energy projects and transactions.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations related to renewable energy and advise the company accordingly.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an attorney, preferably in the energy industry.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction.
  • Proven experience in power purchase agreements, energy transactions, international trade restraints, and withheld restraint orders.
  • Strong understanding of the renewable energy industry and its regulatory environment.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong commitment to ethical practices and compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
