A bit about us:We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as a Director for Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS). The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the company's EHS programs. This role requires a strong leader who can balance compliance with a drive for continuous improvement in EHS performance. This is a critical role that will require a hands-on approach to ensure that our company meets or exceeds all applicable EHS regulations and standards.

Job DetailsResponsibilities:
- Develop and implement EHS policies and programs that comply with all local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
- Oversee multi-unit operations to ensure compliance with all EHS regulations, including Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of facilities to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with EHS regulations.
- Develop and manage training programs to educate employees about safety protocols, hazardous materials handling, and emergency response procedures.
- Lead investigations into incidents, injuries, and near misses to determine causes, develop corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with management teams across the organization to integrate EHS considerations into business decision-making processes.
- Develop and manage a system for tracking and reporting on EHS performance metrics.
- Serve as the company's primary liaison with regulatory agencies on EHS matters.
- Stay abreast of new and proposed changes in EHS regulations and evaluate their potential impact on the company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role in EHS, preferably in a multi-unit environment.
- Demonstrated experience with DOT compliance, hazardous chemicals, and distribution centers.
- In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and standards, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present information to all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement EHS policies and programs.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make sound recommendations.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.
- Ability to travel as needed to company sites and facilities.
