Job Details

Immediate opening is available in our Design Department for a full-time position. This position requires that the applicant have as a minimum the following qualifications:

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoSprink, Hydracad, SprinkCAD, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office products.
  • Abiliy to maintain individual schedule and completion dates.
  • Ability to read and understand local, government, insurance, fire and building codes and standards, Contact Documents, plans, specifications, and technical business documents.
  • Technical writing skills including letter and email writing, project requests for information, and other written communications.
  • Ability to conduct site surveys, using a ladder and/or lift, inspect sprinkler system installations, witness system testing on working jobsites.
  • Must have background in fire sprinkler design and the ability to pursue/maintain NICET certification. NICET Level I, II, III, or IV in Water-based systems would be a plus.
  • BIM modeling, working in 3D environments, coordinating with 3D models produced by other trades or software and the ability to clash and resolve preferred but not required.
  • Experience with AFFF, High Expansion foam systems, fire pumps, both electric and diesel engine drives, pre-action and dry systems, ESFR, storage and rack systems, paint booths, standpipe systems, seismic bracing and seismic bracing calculations preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 13, NFPA 20, NFPA 14, UFC 3-600-01, ETL 02-15, IFC, IBC, and various other NFPA, building, municipal, and military codes preferred.
  • Use of hydraulic calculation software, such as HASS, HydraCAD, SprinkCAD, or AutoSprink preferred.
  • Must have clean driving record and valid Driver’s License.
  • Must pass a drug screen.
