Job Details:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Controller to join our dynamic team in the Construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, a deep understanding of WIP, and proven experience in the construction sector. The Controller will play a pivotal role in our financial management department, overseeing all aspects of financial operations, including the development and management of budgets, preparation of financial statements and reporting. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience, exceptional financial acumen, and a strong commitment to organizational success.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of financial operations including the development and management of budgets, preparation of financial statements and reporting.
- Manage the Work-In-Progress (WIP) schedule and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Lead the accounting team in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Collaborate with project managers to monitor the financial progress of projects, analyze variances, and ensure accurate billing.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction accounting standards and best practices.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
- Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
- Evaluate and advise on the financial impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory action.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in construction accounting software and a strong understanding of WIP.
- Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
- Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data, ability to create and present detailed reports.
- Exceptional leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to colleagues with varying degrees of financial knowledge.
