We are on the hunt for a Permanent HPC Systems Engineering Lead who is passionate about high-performance computing (HPC), parallel computing, and Linux. You will be joining our dynamic team in the technology industry, where we are committed to pushing the boundaries of what's possible. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a team of brilliant engineers and scientists to develop, maintain, and optimize our HPC systems. The ideal candidate must have a Security+ certification and a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities:

As an HPC Systems Engineering Lead, you will:

  1. Lead the design, development, and implementation of HPC systems to meet the company's computational requirements.
  2. Ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the HPC systems that support core organizational functions.
  3. Monitor, maintain, and optimize HPC systems and software for improved performance and resource utilization.
  4. Develop and implement strategies for HPC data management, backup, disaster recovery, and security.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their computational needs and provide solutions.
  6. Stay updated with the latest developments in HPC technologies and apply this knowledge to improve our systems.
  7. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support to the HPC systems engineering team.
  8. Ensure the security of our HPC systems by implementing robust security measures and maintaining the Security+ certification standards.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Active Department of Energy (DoE) Q Clearance or have held one in the past 3 years.
  2. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field or relevant experience. A master's degree or Ph.D. is preferred.
  3. A minimum of five years of experience in HPC systems engineering, with a focus on Linux systems.
  4. Proven experience with parallel computing, HPC clusters, job schedulers, and related technologies.
  5. Strong knowledge of Linux system administration and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Bash.
  6. A Security+ certification with a deep understanding of security principles and how they apply to HPC environments.
  7. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex HPC issues.
  8. Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor a team of engineers.
  9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  10. A strong desire to learn and stay updated with the latest HPC technologies.
