Job Details

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and manage the general ledger and the preparation of financial statements.
  2. Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  3. Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met including Charitable Status, Sales Tax, Income Tax, Employer Health Tax.
  4. Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit and liaise with the Board's Audit Committee and the external auditors as necessary.
  5. Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
  6. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that personnel and financial information is secure and stored in compliance with current legislation.
  7. Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate.
  8. Assist in the development of the annual budget and forecasts.
  9. Manage the cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts in accordance with policy.
  10. Oversee the bookkeeping function including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
  11. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that personnel and financial information is secure and stored in compliance with current legislation.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred.
  3. 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the Finance industry.
  4. Proficient in accounting software, specifically QuickBooks.
  5. Strong understanding of budgeting processes and general ledger functionalities.
  6. Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  8. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
  9. Strong work ethic and the ability to work well under pressure.
  10. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
