We are currently seeking an experienced Permanent Estimator to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented professional who has a knack for numbers, a passion for problem-solving, and a keen eye for detail. As a Permanent Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in our company's success by providing accurate cost estimates that will drive our business decisions and strategies. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications, and identifying quantities of materials required for projects.
- Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to develop the scope of work for each project.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of cost-related information necessary for tendering such as vendors, quotations, forecasts, and historical data.
- Conduct risk analysis to identify potential issues and develop strategies to mitigate their impact.
- Participate in tender review meetings with clients and other stakeholders.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest cost management best practices and procedures.
- Assist in the negotiation of contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prepare and present cost reports to company management and clients.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator, preferably in the plumbing industry.
- A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in preparing and analyzing cost estimates.
- Proficiency in MS Office and estimation software.
- Excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
