Our company, a leading player in the construction industry, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Manager for our Commercial Construction division. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead and manage large-scale commercial construction projects from conception to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project management, including but not limited to contract negotiation, cost control, blueprint reading, strategic planning, team leadership, subcontracting, change orders, and construction drawings.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale commercial construction projects.
  • Negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring the best possible terms for the company.
  • Implement and maintain effective cost control measures to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and other technical documents.
  • Develop strategic plans for project execution and delivery, taking into account project scope, resources, timelines, and other constraints.
  • Manage and lead project teams, fostering an environment of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring their work aligns with project plans and specifications.
  • Manage change orders, ensuring they are properly documented, approved, and implemented.
  • Regularly report on project status to senior management and stakeholders, providing accurate and timely information on progress, challenges, and solutions.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management in the commercial construction industry.
  • Proven experience in contract negotiation, cost control, blueprint reading, strategic planning, team leadership, subcontracting, change orders, and construction drawings.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to lead and manage teams.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, with a track record of securing favorable terms for the company.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to overcome project challenges and obstacles.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to a variety of stakeholders.
  • A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM) are an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
