Job Details:
We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to join our dynamic team in the finance industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with a strong background in regulatory compliance, financial analysis, compliance management, non-profit accounting, grants, and nonprofit accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring our company adheres to legal standards and in-house policies. They will be responsible for enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of business as well as providing guidance on compliance matters. Our ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the finance industry and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an effective legal compliance program.
- Create sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them.
- Draft and revise company policies.
- Proactively audit processes, practices, and documents to identify weaknesses.
- Evaluate business activities (e.g. investments) to assess compliance risk.
- Collaborate with external auditors and HR departments.
- Create plans to manage a company’s compliance with laws and regulations.
- Conduct training and presentations for compliance awareness and understanding.
- Set plans to manage a crisis or compliance violation.
- Ensure all departments meet compliance requirements and standards.
- Stay up-to-date with internal standards and business goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business management or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Compliance Manager in the finance industry with a minimum of 5+ years.
- In-depth knowledge of the industry's standards and regulations.
- Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping.
- A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality.
- Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities.
- An analytical mind able to "see" the complexities of procedures and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and comfortable learning new software as needed.
- Experience with non-profit accounting, grants, and nonprofit accounting.
- Professional certification in compliance such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) will be an added advantage.
