Job Details:

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to join our dynamic team in the finance industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with a strong background in regulatory compliance, financial analysis, compliance management, non-profit accounting, grants, and nonprofit accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring our company adheres to legal standards and in-house policies. They will be responsible for enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of business as well as providing guidance on compliance matters. Our ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the finance industry and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement an effective legal compliance program.
  2. Create sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them.
  3. Draft and revise company policies.
  4. Proactively audit processes, practices, and documents to identify weaknesses.
  5. Evaluate business activities (e.g. investments) to assess compliance risk.
  6. Collaborate with external auditors and HR departments.
  7. Create plans to manage a company’s compliance with laws and regulations.
  8. Conduct training and presentations for compliance awareness and understanding.
  9. Set plans to manage a crisis or compliance violation.
  10. Ensure all departments meet compliance requirements and standards.
  11. Stay up-to-date with internal standards and business goals.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business management or a related field.
  2. Proven experience as a Compliance Manager in the finance industry with a minimum of 5+ years.
  3. In-depth knowledge of the industry's standards and regulations.
  4. Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping.
  5. A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality.
  6. Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities.
  7. An analytical mind able to "see" the complexities of procedures and regulations.
  8. Excellent communication skills.
  9. Proficient in MS Office and comfortable learning new software as needed.
  10. Experience with non-profit accounting, grants, and nonprofit accounting.
  11. Professional certification in compliance such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) will be an added advantage.
