Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Manager of Project Accounting to join our Engineering team. This role will require a strong understanding of construction/ Civil Engineering accounting, monthly reporting, ledger reconciliation, annual budgeting, and accounts receivable (A/R). The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of project accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. They will also manage all accounting operations, including A/R, ledger entries, and monthly close processes. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team and contribute to the financial success of our engineering projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all project accounting functions, including but not limited to, manufacturing accounting, monthly reporting, ledger entries, reconciliations, and A/R.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
  • Monitor project costs and revenue recognition to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely accounting of all project activities.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to projects.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project accountants.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process and periodic financial audits.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. A Master's degree or CPA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting or related field, preferably in the engineering or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting, monthly reporting, ledger reconciliation, annual budgeting, and A/R.
  • Proven experience in managing a team and developing staff.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills with experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and other applicable regulatory rules, regulations, and requirements.
