Job DetailsPrimary Responsibilities:
As part of the Product Realization process, the Mechanical Engineer plays a key role in bringing the next generation of products through the design and release process to a successful manufacturing launch. The Mechanical Engineer II will fill a key role in ensuring that new products meet the cost and manufacturability goals and are released in accordance with published milestones.
Primary Activities Include:
- Utilizing CAD tools to assist in the design and development of new products, tooling and fixturing.
- Performing design analysis during the design phase to ensure that all mechanical and thermal design rules are employed to verify that robust and reliable designs are being created.
- Drive successful design, fabrication, and optimization of internal process tooling and fixtures.
- Generating error free documentation necessary for successful realization of new products, tooling and fixtures.
- Identification of product, tooling and fixture performance issues during new product development. In particular, identifying any issues that may lead to yield loss and work to resolve the issues identified.
- Understanding the product, tooling, and fixturing design tradeoffs which affect yield and manufacturability.
- Supporting the Operations group in modifying existing tooling and fixturing to improve throughput and yield.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- BSME or equivalent required.
- 5 – 10 years of experience with the mechanical design of products, tools and fixtures required.
- 5 – 10 years of experience with design simulation and optimization using Solidworks is required.
- Ability to apply the scientific method and critical thinking skills to solve technical problems.
- Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently to complete tasks and solve problems.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work collaboratively in teams and exude positive interpersonal behavior.
