Job Details:
Our dynamic and growing law firm is seeking a seasoned paralegal to join our team, specializing in Estate Planning and Elder Law. This full-time position will provide the right candidate with an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, dealing with complex legal issues surrounding estate planning, trusts, wills, and elder law. This role will require a deep understanding and practical experience of medicaid processes and policies.
Responsibilities:
As a Paralegal in Estate Planning and Elder Law, your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting attorneys with all aspects of estate planning and elder law, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and other legal documents.
- Conducting legal research and preparing legal documents and pleadings for court filings.
- Managing a caseload of estate planning and elder law cases, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Communicating effectively with clients, court personnel, and other professionals.
- Preparing and filing Medicaid applications, and assisting clients with the Medicaid process.
- Coordinating with care managers, social workers, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.
- Maintaining client files and case management systems, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on estate planning and elder law.
- Calendaring experience
- Guardianship experience
- Extensive knowledge of Medicaid processes and policies.
- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Law, or a related field. A paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program is a plus.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients clearly and understandably.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality, with a commitment to providing exceptional client service.
