Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Cost Accountant to join our team in the manufacturing industry. This role is critical to our financial planning and involves a high level of responsibility. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving cost accounting systems and procedures. This position will play a key role in the financial planning of our company, focusing on analyzing and reporting on the costs of production, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold. You will be expected to work closely with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and procedural compliance.

Responsibilities:

  1. Implement cost accounting systems and procedures to track, control, and report product costs.
  2. Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
  3. Analyze production costs and recommend changes.
  4. Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost, and inventory liability accounts.
  5. Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability.
  6. Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules and others.
  7. Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management.
  8. Conduct regular forecasts to assist in business planning and decision-making.
  9. Collaborate with the finance department and other business units for financial planning and budget processes.
  10. Prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by product type, by customer etc.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  3. Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
  4. Experience with accounting software and MS Excel.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  9. Experience in forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  10. Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred but not required.
