Job Summary:

The Assistant Credit Manager will be responsible for overseeing the accounts receivable and credit management processes, ensuring that credit is granted to reliable customers and outstanding debts are collected efficiently. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and experience with Dun & Bradstreet reporting and financial statement analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable Management:

Oversee and manage the entire accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliation.

Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to accounts receivable.

Ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices and work closely with the accounts receivable team to resolve any issues.

Credit Management:

Review and analyze credit applications and financial statements to assess creditworthiness.

Conduct thorough credit checks using Dun & Bradstreet, and other financial reporting tools.

Approve or recommend credit limits and payment terms for customers based on credit evaluations.

Monitor existing customer accounts for changes in credit risk and adjust credit limits accordingly.

Collaborate with the sales and finance teams to align credit policies with business goals.

Financial Analysis & Reporting:

Prepare and present regular reports on accounts receivable aging, credit risk, and collections performance.

Analyze customer payment patterns and trends to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to accounts receivable and credit management.

Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensure all credit and accounts receivable activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.

Develop and implement strategies to minimize bad debt exposure and reduce days sales outstanding (DSO).

Manage disputes and negotiations with customers regarding credit terms and payment issues.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in credit management, accounts receivable, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of credit analysis, financial statement review, and risk assessment.

Experience with Dun & Bradstreet reporting and credit scoring tools.

Proficiency in financial software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
