Job Details

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee all aspects of construction project supervision from planning to implementation.
  2. Allocate resources for assigned projects, including labor, materials, and time.
  3. Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
  4. Review work progress on a daily basis and adjust schedules or plans as needed.
  5. Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
  6. Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  7. Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, and clients.
  8. Ensure all legal requirements, building and safety codes, safety inspections, and local and state regulations are met.
  9. Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
  10. Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts, and obtain necessary permits and licenses.
  11. Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven working experience in construction management for 5+ years, with a focus on overseeing projects from conception to completion.
  2. Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
  3. Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  4. Competent in conflict and crisis management.
  5. Excellent time and project management skills, with proven ability to stick to deadlines.
  6. Proficient in using construction management software.
  7. Strong leadership and human resources management skills.
  8. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  9. BSc/BA in engineering, construction science, or relevant field.
  10. PMP or equivalent certification would be considered an asset.
  11. Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
  12. Demonstrated understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
  13. Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
  14. Good knowledge of MS Office and construction/project management software.
  15. Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  16. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  17. A team player with leadership abilities.
  18. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  19. Excellent problem-solving abilities.
