Job Details

Main Duties:

  • The preferred candidate should have a solid grasp of electrical systems and assist with diagnosing machine issues to enhance productivity through preventative measures.
  • Ensuring production machinery operates efficiently by performing maintenance in line with equipment manuals and engineering specs, troubleshooting problems when needed.
  • Carry out all required mechanical and electrical repairs for production and auxiliary equipment, as well as handling general facility upkeep.
  • Work effectively with the operations team to identify and resolve production challenges.
  • Assist with setting up and taking down equipment as needed.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks to keep machines in good working order.
  • Read and interpret technical documentation and work orders to execute necessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Keep the maintenance area well-organized and ensure tools and parts are properly inventoried.
  • Maintain the facility through regular checks on lighting, air filters, and vents.
  • Perform general upkeep, such as cleaning, painting, and outdoor maintenance tasks.
  • Prepare the facility for seasonal changes.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, such as lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols, and adhere to company policies.

Skills and Experience Needed:

  • Completion of secondary education or a similar level of formal schooling
  • Hands-on training in mechanical/electrical systems or comparable on-the-job experience in a factory setting
  • Several years of practical experience working with machinery in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong understanding of both electrical and mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with systems involving air pressure and fluid power
  • Capable of interpreting electrical diagrams and troubleshooting, with a basic understanding of PLCs
  • Competence in using various hand and power tools
  • Capable of operating a forklift
