Salary: $120,000 - $135,000 per year

Plant in San Diego, CA seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to report to the Plant Controller. This person must have recent cost accounting experience ability to do variances and work with the pricing dept.

What you will be doing?

• Oversee all financial aspects of the manufacturing process, from inventory management to cost accounting, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and provide strategic guidance to the company's leadership team
• Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
• Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Provide support for external audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and responses to auditor inquiries
• Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics, identify trends, and recommend actions to improve profitability and efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and sales, to drive process improvements and cost savings initiatives
• Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing coaching and mentoring to support their growth and development

Skills you need:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
• JD Edwards exp.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on cost accounting, inventory management, and general ledger accounting
• Strong understanding of GAAP and other regulatory requirements, with experience managing external audits
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
