Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Interact with various operational groups within the company structure.
  • Communicate with plan reviewers and project stakeholders.
  • Engage in creative problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with senior engineering and landscape architecture staff to design innovative stormwater and resiliency measures to reduce flooding.
  • Work on stormwater designs, retrofits, construction drawings, and watershed planning studies.
  • Partner with Land Development, Planners, and Landscape Architects to enhance and integrate stormwater designs into site architecture.
  • Serve a diverse range of clients, including residential and commercial developers, campuses, multimodal transportation, greenways, and parks.
  • Conduct fieldwork and site visits from study or design phases through construction.
  • Design and analyze riverine and open stormwater conveyances, including swales and both constructed and natural channels. Additionally, design and analyze other stormwater conveyances such as curb cuts, flumes, and pipe culvert systems to direct runoff to management strategies.
  • Design and analyze stormwater management facilities, particularly for peak flow rate detention.
  • Develop and analyze proposed design solutions.
  • Create FEMA Flood Studies, CLOMR/LOMR letters, and No-Rise certifications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field from an accredited program.
  • 7 to 15 years of experience in water resources and design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive to improve oneself, the project team, and the community.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain licensure in Texas within 4 months.
