We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Construction Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is a permanent position and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to and learn from our experienced team of professionals. The Construction Assistant Project Manager will work closely with the Project Manager and other team members to ensure that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track. Responsibilities include submitting project deliverables, preparing status reports, and establishing effective project communication plans. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the construction industry, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Project Manager in the execution of the management plan for assigned projects.
  2. Help coordinate and manage project from inception to completion.
  3. Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  4. Monitor and track project progress and provide updates to all stakeholders.
  5. Assist in the development of the project schedule; help manage timely completion through scheduling, resource allocation, performance tracking, and quality control.
  6. Coordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project, which include clients, architects, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, and laborers.
  7. Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards.
  8. Ensure project documents, including contracts, requisitions, change orders, and RFIs, are complete and stored appropriately.
  9. Perform project scheduling and coordination, material and equipment procurement, reading and understanding construction drawings, and quality control.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management or a related field.
  3. Proven experience as a construction project manager or in a similar role.
  4. In-depth understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.
  5. Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
  6. Excellent knowledge of construction project management software, such as Procore or similar.
  7. Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  8. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  9. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  10. A team player with excellent leadership abilities.
  11. PMP or an equivalent certification would be considered an asset.
