About the Role

We are looking for a motivated software engineering professional to join our engineering team, and work on our cutting edge 5G Fronthaul and Backhaul Ethernet transport products. This position requires a person who can demonstrate expertise in vxWorks based embedded systems and a solid knowledge of Carrier Ethernet concepts and functionality.

What you'll do:

The successful candidate will work on the 9145E NID Product Line, and will have the following responsibilities:

  • Design, document and implement new features and functionalities on the product line.
  • Investigate, debug and troubleshoot issues and problems reported by customers in the field.
  • Work with other engineering teams to define automated testing methodologies and processes for the 9145E Product Line.
  • Provide estimates, scheduling recommendations and periodic reports on the engineering tasks.
  • Participate and contribute to engineering meetings and reviews and provide insight and recommendations into features, release planning, or integration and automation support for continuous development and testing.

What we're looking for:

The successful candidate will have experience in or knowledge of:

  • Over 2 years of C programming experience.
  • Experience with VxWorks platforms including Wind River’s Workbench Eclipse-based integrated development environment (IDE).
  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies is a plus and highly desired:
  • Software projects for networking devices, such as switches, routers or NICs.
  • MEF and Carrier Ethernet concepts and functionality, IEEE standards and fundamental concepts of networking (queues, lookups, policing, shaping, etc.).
  • SNMP, SNMP agent and MIB development.
  • TCP/IP Stacks and associated components/protocols: IPv4, TCP, UDP, ARP, FTP, SSH, SFTP, DHCP, SSL, TELNET, RADIUS, etc.
  • Ethernet and LAN/MAN Bridging protocols, IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.1, VLANs, broadcasting, multicasting, OAM, STP, MRVP, GVRP, IP/MPLS: IPv4/v6, LDP, RSVP-TE, OSPF, BGP, etc.

Must Have:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. Graduate degree a plus.
