Job Details

Senior Construction Law Attorney

We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Law Attorney to join our national firm's Construction Law practice group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction litigation and arbitration, with a proven track record of successfully representing clients in complex construction disputes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage complex construction litigation and arbitration cases from inception through resolution
  • Represent clients in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies for construction disputes
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Conduct and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation proceedings
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on risk management and dispute avoidance
  • Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and support staff
  • Contribute to business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • 5+ years of experience in construction law, with a focus on litigation and arbitration
  • Admission to practice law in relevant state(s)
  • Extensive knowledge of construction contracts, industry standards, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale, complex construction disputes
  • Experience with alternative dispute resolution methods, including mediation and arbitration
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with public and private construction projects
  • Familiarity with various project delivery methods (e.g., design-bid-build, design-build, EPC)
  • Background in engineering or construction management
  • Active involvement in construction industry associations
