Job Details:

As a Steel Plant Manager, you will oversee the safe production, movement, finishing, and shipping of pipe, ensuring compliance with production, maintenance, and quality control standards. You will lead a team, manage production operations, and coordinate with procurement and maintenance to optimize efficiency. Your role involves supervising staff, maintaining safety protocols, and managing customer and vendor relationships. A Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 5-10 years of leadership experience in manufacturing are preferred. Strong problem-solving skills, experience in API product requirements, and familiarity with OCTG production are advantageous

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the steel plant, ensuring that production goals are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Implement and adhere to all API and OCTG standards and regulations.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and increase productivity.
  • Manage various projects, coordinating with different departments to ensure that all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  • Apply knowledge of metallurgy to improve our production processes and develop new, innovative products.
  • Lead and manage a diverse team, providing them with the guidance and support they need to excel in their roles.
  • Oversee all purchasing activities, ensuring that we acquire high-quality materials at the best possible prices.
  • Implement and enforce strict safety protocols, creating a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
  • Manage cost and inventory control, ensuring that resources are utilized efficiently and waste is minimized.
  • Develop and manage the plant's budget, making sure that all financial goals are met.
  • Utilize Six Sigma methodologies to identify and eliminate defects in our production processes.
  • Oversee our supply chain, ensuring that all materials are delivered on time and that our products reach our customers in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a plant management role in the steel production industry.
  • Proven leadership skills, with a track record of managing and motivating a diverse team.
  • Knowledge of API and OCTG standards and regulations preferred.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comprehensive understanding of metallurgy and its application in steel production.
  • Proven experience in purchasing and supply chain management.
  • Strong commitment to safety, with experience implementing and enforcing safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent budgeting skills, with a proven ability to manage costs and control inventory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
