We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Permanent Personal Injury Attorney to join our dynamic team with extensive Jones Act and Maritime experience. This is a permanent position within our legal department where you will be primarily responsible for handling a variety of personal injury cases. You will be expected to work closely with our clients, providing them with legal advice and representation in court. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, managing complex cases and making a real difference in people's lives.

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Personal Injury Attorney, your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Representing clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or argue for plaintiff's rights.
  2. Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
  3. Analyzing probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents.
  4. Evaluating findings and developing strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
  5. Preparing and drafting legal documents, such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts.
  6. Negotiating settlements of civil disputes, mediating between involved parties.
  7. Conducting legal research and gathering evidence.
  8. Ensuring the seamless transition of cases from discovery to trial phase.
  9. Preparing pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  10. Handling all aspects of litigation, including taking and defending depositions.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the role, you must have the following qualifications:

  1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Personal Injury Attorney.
  3. Active membership of the state Bar.
  4. Proven experience with Plaintiff, Mediation, Legal Writing, pleadings, and Jones Act.
  5. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  7. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  8. Proficient in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  9. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
  10. High level of initiative and works well in a team environment.
  11. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  12. Handles stressful situations and deadline pressures well.
  13. Plans and carries out responsibilities with minimal direction.
