Job Details:

We are searching for a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our team in the technology/manufacturing industry. As the Permanent Controller, you will be responsible for the overall management of the financial operations. This includes managing accounting records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, publishing financial statements, overseeing accounting operations, analyzing financial data, and participating in budget processes. You will also be tasked with managing and mentoring a team of accounting professionals, ensuring they are equipped to meet the financial objectives of the organization. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional who thrives in a busy work place, and is well-versed in working closely with senior management.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  2. Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
  3. Coordinate all audit activity and be the main point of contact for external auditors.
  4. Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  5. Monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of the organization’s financial status.
  6. Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
  7. Implement a robust contracts management and financial management/reporting system; ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to.
  8. Oversee the preparation and planning of the annual budget.
  9. Oversee all financial, project/program, and grants accounting; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund period.
  10. Manage the preparation of all financial reports.
  11. Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline. CPA, CMA, or other related certification is preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position with a proven track record of success.
  3. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  4. Proficiency in analyzing financial data and generating financial reports.
  5. Experience with financial and accounting software applications.
  6. Proven expertise in strategic planning and execution.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
  9. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  10. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
  11. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
  12. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially in MS Excel.
  13. Experience with journal entries, cash flow statements, P&L, variance, overseeing AP/AR, reconciliations, month-end, annual audit, year-end, and monthly reporting.
  14. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  15. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
