Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of construction project management, including initial planning, design, scheduling, and implementation.
- Develop and direct the project strategy, ensuring that the scope of work is well-defined and in compliance with the project's contractual obligations.
- Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
- Manage project budget, including tracking project costs and ensuring expenses are within the approved budget.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction specialists, providing insightful feedback on blueprints and design plans.
- Handle any environmental or local community issues that may come up during a project.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential project pitfalls.
- Ensure all legal requirements, building and safety codes, safety inspections, and local and state regulations are met.
- Resolve any problems that may arise due to unforeseen circumstances, such as weather changes or emergencies.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and team members, to keep the project aligned with their expectations and needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a construction project management role (commercial projects), with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints and technical drawings.
- Extensive knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
- Strong knowledge of construction budgeting and the ability to manage project finances effectively.
- Excellent knowledge of project management principles and practices.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage and resolve conflicts professionally.
- Proficiency in construction management software packages.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
