Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Senior Substation Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects in the engineering industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and operation of substations, including high voltage power systems. This role will involve working with cutting-edge technology and software such as SKM, winIGS, CDEGS, and ETAP. Experience in electric utility engineering and utility-scale solar is also essential. The candidate will also be involved in substation physical design.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, plan, and oversee the construction and maintenance of substations and high voltage power systems.
  • Perform complex engineering analyses and calculations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on various project aspects, ensuring the successful completion of projects on time and within budget.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to improve the efficiency and reliability of substation operations.
  • Use specialized software such as SKM, winIGS, CDEGS, and ETAP for power system analysis and design.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Participate in the development and review of engineering plans and specifications.
  • Work closely with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to address and resolve engineering issues.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A master's degree will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in substation engineering, including high voltage power systems.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is nice to have.
  • Proficiency in using engineering software such as SKM, winIGS, CDEGS, and ETAP.
  • Experience in electric utility engineering and utility-scale solar.
  • Strong knowledge of substation physical design.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and lead projects.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Willingness to stay updated with the latest technology and industry trends.
