Are you someone passionate about finance, with a keen eye for details and a knack for numbers? Do you get a thrill from managing assets, analyzing financial statements, and ensuring accuracy in accounting? If so, we have a great opportunity for you! We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Permanent Portfolio Accountant for our accounting team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where new ideas are encouraged and collaboration is a must. This is a hybrid role that combines the responsibilities of a Portfolio Accountant with the strategic and analytical aspects of sales.

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Portfolio Accountant, you will be responsible for a wide range of activities including, but not limited to:

1. Managing and maintaining our fixed assets register, including calculating and recording monthly depreciation.
2. Performing monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, ensuring all items are properly accounted for and documented.
3. Preparing and posting monthly journal entries, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
4. Assisting with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
5. Analyzing variances in financial performance against budget, prior periods, and forecasts.
6. Interacting with tenants, ensuring all financial obligations are met and resolving any issues that may arise.
7. Participating in the month-end close process, ensuring all deadlines are met.
8. Assisting with special projects as needed, including process improvements, systems implementations, and other initiatives.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the sales industry.
2. A strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, specifically related to fixed assets, depreciation, and reconciliations.
3. Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
4. Experience with month-end close processes and journal entries.
5. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify and explain variances in financial performance.
6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with tenants and other stakeholders.
7. A high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
8. The ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, and experience with accounting software.
