Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as a VP of Legal. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping our company's future. You will be the key advisor to our executive team on all legal matters, ensuring that our strategies and operations align with the legal framework. Your expertise in handling purchase orders, government contracts, securities law, and commercial transactions will be critical in driving our company's success.

Responsibilities:

As the VP of Legal, you will:

1. Provide strategic legal advice to the executive team, ensuring that all company strategies and operations are legally sound and efficient.
2. Oversee all legal matters related to purchase orders, government contracts, securities law, and commercial transactions.
3. Ensure the company's compliance with all ITAR regulations and other relevant laws.
4. Act as the company's representative in any legal proceedings, ensuring the best possible outcomes for the company.
5. Develop and implement policies and procedures to prevent legal issues and mitigate risks.
6. Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all company operations are legally compliant.
7. Stay updated on any changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company, and advice the executive team accordingly.
8. Provide legal guidance during the negotiation and execution of contracts and agreements.
9. Lead the legal team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the VP of Legal position should have:

1. A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
3. Expertise in handling purchase orders, government contracts, securities law, and commercial transactions.
4. In-depth knowledge of ITAR and other relevant laws and regulations.
5. Proven experience in providing strategic legal advice to an executive team.
6. Experience in a hardware startup environment is a plus.
7. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
10. The ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
