Job Details

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent VP, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting, you will:

  1. Oversee and manage the preparation of all SEC filings, including 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K reports, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
  2. Provide technical accounting expertise on complex business transactions and new accounting standards.
  3. Lead the company's financial reporting and technical accounting teams, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and adherence to best practices.
  4. Liaise with external auditors, including Ernst & Young, to facilitate annual audits and quarterly reviews.
  5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SEC regulations and GAAP, ensuring the company's compliance.
  6. Work closely with the C-suite executives, providing strategic financial guidance and insights.
  7. Participate in the preparation of materials for the Board of Directors and Audit Committee.
  8. Lead special projects and initiatives related to financial reporting and technical accounting.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. An advanced degree or CPA is highly preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level accounting or financial reporting role within the engineering, aviation, or a similar regulated industry.
  3. Proven experience with SEC reporting and technical accounting, including extensive knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
  4. Previous experience with a Big 4 accounting firm, preferably Ernst & Young, is a plus.
  5. Strong experience in managing post-IPO financial reporting and compliance.
  6. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a high-performing team.
  7. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  8. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex financial information to a variety of stakeholders.
  9. Proficiency in using financial software and reporting systems.
