Salary: $35 - $43 per hour

The ideal candidate has 1+ years as a Fire Protection Inspector with Commercial and Industrial clients, ideally with a Michigan Fire Alarm License and/or NICET II Certification. You should be detail oriented with strong accuracy for reporting to the Fire Marshal and insurance companies and be comfortable in a client facing role with strong customer service skills.

You'll be traveling locally within 20-30 miles to sites, with a company provided truck and gas card.

Job Details:

We are seeking a diligent and safety-focused Fire Alarm System Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems within our facilities. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of fire protection systems and be able to ensure that our facilities are in compliance with fire safety regulations. This position requires a minimum of 1 years of experience in fire protection or a related field.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, inspect, service, and repair fire alarm systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Perform regular testing to ensure that fire alarm systems are in good working order.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on fire alarm systems, including cleaning and replacing parts as necessary.
  • Identify potential issues with fire alarm systems and take appropriate action to prevent system failures.
  • Work closely with the facilities management team to coordinate fire safety efforts and ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
  • Provide training to staff on fire safety procedures and the proper use of fire alarm systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, services, and repairs performed.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest fire safety technologies and make recommendations for system upgrades as necessary.
  • Tech savvy to use several programs to generate reporting, with a strong sense of accuracy, and strong communication skills

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 years of experience in fire protection or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair procedures.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards related to fire safety.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify potential issues with fire alarm systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to provide clear instructions to staff on fire safety procedures.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety and compliance.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records of all work performed.
  • Willingness to stay up-to-date on the latest fire safety technologies.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
