Salary: $140,000 - $180,000 per year

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This is a permanent position, ideal for someone with a robust background in general liability and defense on construction related cases. The successful candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree and must be a member in good standing with the Florida Bar. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience. The right candidate will have a proven track record of success, a passion for the legal field, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of general liability and defense matters.
  • Represent the organization in court proceedings, providing a robust and effective defense.
  • Prepare and draft various legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy development.
  • Review and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations to determine their impact on the organization.
  • Develop and implement effective legal strategies to resolve cases swiftly and effectively.
  • Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation that may affect the organization and its operations.
  • Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authorities etc.), creating relations of trust.
  • Uphold the ethics and values of the legal profession and the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Attorney, with a focus on construction related cases
  • Active membership and good standing with the Florida Bar.
  • Exceptional knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.
  • Proven experience appearing before state and federal courts.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas.
  • Excellent negotiation and people skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office and ability to work with legal technology (court-filing computer systems, transcription software, etc.).
