Job Details

Are you a seasoned professional with a knack for managing complex claims? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for helping people navigate challenging situations? If so, you might be the perfect fit for our Claims Examiner position. We're looking for an experienced individual to join our dynamic team, where you'll play a crucial role in analyzing and resolving a variety of insurance claims.

Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluating and investigating insurance claims promptly and accurately. You will be tasked with reviewing and verifying the legitimacy of claims, ensuring all necessary documentation is available, and determining the company's liability.
  2. Negotiating settlements with claimants, attorneys, and other carriers. You will need to use your excellent communication and negotiation skills to achieve fair and efficient resolutions.
  3. Documenting claims handling process thoroughly and accurately. You'll be expected to maintain detailed records of each case, including notes on your investigation, negotiation, and settlement processes.
  4. Providing excellent customer service. As a Claims Examiner, you'll often be interacting with individuals who are going through difficult times. It's crucial that you provide empathetic, patient, and efficient service.
  5. Staying up-to-date on changing regulations, laws, and policies in the insurance industry. You'll need to be proactive about continuing your education and adapting to these changes.

Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of five years of experience in Casualty Claims, Claims Handling, or as a Claims Analyst. This experience should have provided you with a strong understanding of the claims process, as well as the ability to manage complex cases.
  2. Strong analytical skills. You should be able to review a case, identify the key details, and make accurate and fair decisions based on this information.
  3. Excellent negotiation skills. You'll often be tasked with negotiating settlements, so it's crucial that you're able to communicate effectively and persuasively.
  4. High level of organization. You'll be managing multiple cases at once, so you should be able to keep your work organized and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  5. Strong knowledge of insurance regulations, laws, and policies. You should be familiar with the current landscape of the insurance industry and able to adapt to changes quickly.
  6. Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office and claims management systems.
  7. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as Business or Finance) is preferred. Relevant professional certifications (such as the Claims Law Specialist or Senior Claims Law Associate designations) are also a plus.
