Salary: $175,000 - $200,000 per year

Job Details

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Tax Manager, you will be responsible for managing the company's tax strategy and ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations. Your duties will include:

  1. Overseeing the preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns and ensuring their accuracy and compliance with tax laws.
  2. Leading the preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
  3. Identifying and mitigating tax risks and ensuring compliance with internal control policies.
  4. Managing tax audits and investigations, negotiating with tax authorities when necessary.
  5. Staying updated with current tax laws and regulations and advising management on the tax impact of corporate strategies.
  6. Collaborating with other departments to provide tax advice on business decisions.
  7. Managing and mentoring a team of tax professionals, fostering a supportive and high-performing work environment.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  1. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree in Taxation or a related field is preferred.
  2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
  3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in tax management, preferably in the energy industry.
  4. Proficient knowledge of ASC 740 and experience with tax provision preparation and review.
  5. Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax codes and regulations.
  6. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  10. High level of integrity and professional ethics.
