Job Details:
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team at our corrections facility. This unique role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality medical care to a diverse patient population, often in challenging circumstances. The successful candidate will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, to ensure the well-being, safety, and health of all individuals in our care. This is a full-time, permanent position requiring a minimum of 2 years of professional nursing experience.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients within the corrections facility, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
- Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals, including Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, to ensure optimal patient care.
- Respond to emergency medical situations promptly and effectively.
- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians and monitor patients for side effects or reactions.
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and patient records.
- Educate patients about health conditions and provide advice and emotional support.
- Comply with all facility and nursing standards, policies, and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
- Participate in continuous education, training, and professional development activities to maintain current knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid RN license in the state of GA.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in a corrections, acute care, or similar environment.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations and managing a wide range of medical conditions.
- Exceptional clinical skills, including the ability to assess and diagnose patients effectively and develop and implement comprehensive nursing care plans.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, family members, and healthcare professionals.
- High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
