We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) specialized in Microsoft SQL Server to join our team. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our Microsoft SQL Server database systems. Your expertise in Microsoft SQL Server will be essential in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our databases. You will collaborate closely with the IT team, developers, and other stakeholders to provide seamless data management solutions and support the organization's data-related initiatives. Responsibilities: Microsoft SQL Server Management: Design, install, configure, and maintain the organization's Microsoft SQL Server database systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability. Database Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies for Microsoft SQL Server databases to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity in case of data loss or system failure. Performance Tuning: Monitor the performance of Microsoft SQL Server databases, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries, indexes, and configurations to enhance system efficiency and response times. Security: Implement and maintain database security measures, including access controls, user authentication, encryption, and auditing, for Microsoft SQL Server databases to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access and potential breaches. Data Integrity and Quality: Ensure data integrity and consistency for Microsoft SQL Server databases by performing regular data audits, validation checks, and data cleansing procedures. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve database-related issues on Microsoft SQL Server, minimizing downtime and disruptions to business operations. Capacity Planning: Assess the growth and usage patterns of Microsoft SQL Server databases to plan for future capacity requirements and recommend necessary upgrades or expansions. Database Upgrades and Patching: Plan and execute software upgrades and apply security patches for Microsoft SQL Server databases to keep systems up-to-date and secure. SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Data Integration: Develop, maintain, and optimize SSIS packages for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes on Microsoft SQL Server. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures for Microsoft SQL Server databases for reference and knowledge sharing. Qualifications:
Education: bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience: Proven experience as a Database Administrator with at least 5 years of hands-on experience managing and administering Microsoft SQL Server databases. Database Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server database management system, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization. SQL Proficiency: Strong command of SQL and database query optimization techniques for Microsoft SQL Server. Backup and Recovery: Experience in designing and implementing data backup and recovery strategies for Microsoft SQL Server databases. Security Knowledge: Solid understanding of database security concepts and best practices for Microsoft SQL Server databases. Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve database issues efficiently on Microsoft SQL Server. Automation and Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) and automation tools to streamline routine tasks and database maintenance for Microsoft SQL Server.
