JOB SUMMARY:

Duties include provision of transportation for program clients to and from the office, or other locations as assigned.Demonstrates knowledge of co-occurring disorders and appropriate interventions.

POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safely operates agency vehicles while transporting clients to and from program and community appointments.

Check email messages daily for scheduling changes.

Provides effective communication with staff and clients for successful transportation services.

Provides friendly customer service practices to clients.

Informs supervisor of any van repairs/maintenance as necessary.

Takes van(s) in for repairs/maintenance as necessary.

Monitors and tracks general van maintenance and care.

Adheres to all agency policies regarding transportation of clients, vehicle operation, accident reporting and cell phone usage.

All needed transportation services for clients will be coordinated and requested by program staff and not directly from clients.

Maintain log of all related transportation services and gas related expenses.

Requires ability to work with the public, ability to maintain an effective working relationship with agency employees, ability to maintain a professional manner at all times and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Other errands and duties as assigned

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Driver will be working with FCS clients, who may have greater challenges with communication due to confusion, mild agitation, or active symptoms of mental illness.Driver should be prepared to rapidly assess any potentially escalating situation and engage appropriate clinical assistance or crisis intervention services.
