YWCA Tulsa is seeking a full time

Van Driver

for its Immigration and Refugee Services Department. The Van Driver is responsible for ensuring the safe and timely transportation of clients to and from ESL classes, medical appointments, legal appointments, and other destinations as part of YWCA's Immigrant and Refugee Services. The Van Driver supports clients of all ages from various programs including Education, Case Management, Legal, and workforce services.

YWCA Tulsa has offered innovative and inclusive services to the immigrant and refugee community of Tulsa for over 35 years. Services include English language and citizenship classes, workforce and case management services, interpretation and translation services, youth education, community education, and immigration legal services. A multicultural and multilingual staff provides services with first-language proficiency in Arabic, Burmese, Dari, Hindi, Hmong, Pashto, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, Urdu, and Zomi.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The majority of duties performed, but not meant to be all-inclusive or to prevent other duties from being assigned, include:

Student/Client Services

Ensures friendly, welcoming transportation for clients of all ages to and from service destinations.Assists clients who need extra help such as parents with car seats, clients with wheelchairs, or other similar situations on and off the van.Assists office staff in confirming rides with clients beforehand.Returns personal items left on the van to the program which scheduled the ride.Vehicle Operations and MaintenanceMaintains a clean driving record when working and when not working.Complies with and passes drug screens when requested.Complies with other DOT regulations. •Follows all city and state traffic laws.Uses sound judgment to provide safe, efficient, and timely transportationRefrains from texting, phone calls, and other phone or electronic use while driving (GPS use is okay)Ensures routine maintenance is performed on the vehicle like oil changes, tire rotation, and changes.Reports any mechanical or operational problems to the supervisor and works with the supervisor to resolve mechanical problems.Maintains a clean and tidy vehicle.Administrative and Programmatic Support

Enters client ride data into the I&R database.Maintains accurate records for the vehicle including rider lists, mileage reports, and ride schedules.Works with program staff to create a ride schedule as needed.Communicates by phone or messaging to students and clients about their scheduled rides.Transports mail or other program materials between YWCA sites during the regular ride schedule.The following is a list of possible duties requested during times when driving is not needed or is not possible.Picking up trash in the building or on the grounds.Light cleaning or sweeping.Assisting with moving heavy objects like textbooks or furniture.Answering phones or sitting at the front desk.Light paperwork or organizing.Requirements

Beginning knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).Intermediate skills or higher in speaking, reading, and writing English required.Second language ability is strongly desired in a language like Spanish, Dari, Pashto, Burmese, or Zomi .Benefits and Perks:
