POSITION SUMMARY:

Human Resource Generalist is responsible for professional-level human resources assistance, services and guidance to designated departments/programs within the company on a wide scope of human resource issues: employee relations, internal investigations, recruitment and selection, compensation, benefits, compliance or other areas as assigned.Job Functions/ResponsibilitiesRecruitment and Onboarding:Manage end-to-end recruitment processes including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and selection.Coordinate and conduct new employee onboarding sessions to ensure smooth integration into the company.Maintain job descriptions and specifications in alignment with organizational needs.Employee Relations:Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and conflict resolution.Mediate disputes and facilitate resolution to maintain a positive work environment.Conduct exit interviews and analyze feedback to improve employee retention strategies.Performance Management:Assist managers in developing performance improvement plans and providing coaching for employee development.Compensation and Benefits:Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.Conduct market research and salary surveys to ensure competitive compensation practices.Process payroll information and manage discrepancies related to compensation and benefits.Compliance and Recordkeeping:Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and company policies.Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and documentation.Prepare and submit required governmental reports and compliance documentation as needed.Policy Development and Implementation:Enforce HR policies and procedures to align with organizational goals and legal requirements.Communicate policy changes and updates to employees and ensure understanding and compliance.HR Systems and Data Management:Manage and utilize HR information systems for tracking employee data, generating reports, and supporting HR activities.Analyze HR metrics and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.Organizational Culture and Engagement:Promote and support company culture and employee engagement initiatives.Organize and manage employee events, recognition programs, and team-building activities.Health and Safety:Ensure workplace health and safety standards are met and communicate safety procedures to employees.Other Duties:Assist with special HR projects and initiatives as needed.Stay current with HR trends and best practices and integrate them into HR functions.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:• Minimum 2 years of experience in a coordinator, generalist or similar position• Thorough knowledge of applicable local, state and federal employment law• Experience with human resources operationsEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Bachelors degree in relevant area or equivalent combination of education and experience.SKILL REQUIREMENTS:• General understanding of all HR areas including employment laws• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, strong organizational skills, and the ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization.• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.• Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), HRIS and database management skills.• Strong attention to detail• Ability to maintain a strict standard of confidentiality in handling Company sensitive information, reports, and correspondence.• Ability to take initiative with minimal supervision, work independently.• Excellent time management, organizational and follow-up skills.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Professional office environment. Occasionally, this position will be required to perform duties at various worksites including job fair sites, schools, and fleet locations. The employee will be required to operate various types of office equipment to perform the duties of his/her position. This is inclusive but not limited to telephones, computers, copiers, shredders, calculators and printers.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
