Communications Specialist Dispatcher
Wentworth Institute of Technology Police Department is seeking applicants for the position of
Communications Specialist Dispatcher . The mission of the Department is to provide a safe campus for students, faculty, staff, and visitors of Wentworth Institute of Technology. Additionally, to facilitate the university’s educational, research, and community service goals while providing these services with the highest standards of professionalism. Essential Duties : Monitoring alarms for the entire university system while dispatching the proper response. Operating a multi-line telephone system. Prioritizing calls and entering the data into a computer-aided dispatch system. Asking vital questions and providing pre-arrival instructions for response. Monitoring and operating a radio console and computer equipment. Receiving and responding to a variety of calls for service and complaints. Asking questions to interpret, analyze, and anticipate the caller’s situation as well as resolving problems by providing information, dispatching emergency services, or referring callers to other agencies. Dispatching and coordinating the responses of the Department of Public Safety. Minimum Requirements : Associate's degree, or vocational or technical school degree 1 - 3 years of work experience.
