OverviewThe Office of Events is a growing department whose primary function is to assure the events hosted by Utah State University, "Exceed Expectations".
The primary purpose of this position is to work under the direction of the Event Equipment Coordinator. The successful candidate will use discretion and independent judgment in the performance of venue and event related activities, completing assigned duties in a timely manner and in accordance with the division's standards.
The work hours for this position are flexible and will require some night, weekend, and holiday hours as needed.
Regular Shift between 7:30 AM -5:00 PM Monday - Friday
Responsibilities
Provide excellent and ongoing customer service throughout the guest experience
Ensure timely delivery and setup of event equipment to indoor and outdoor event locations across the University campus as well as other locations as necessary
Facilitate inter-departmental groups with various roles and responsibilities as required
Maintain inventory of department equipment and provide basic upkeep
Ensure that equipment is clean and presentable
Provide basic maintenance of departmental vehicles
Responsibility to open, monitor, and close venues
Maintain clean and clear access to and from venues throughout all seasons of the year
Provide on-site assistance with events as required
General set up and clean up, as needed, before, during and after events
Complete other event and venue responsibilities as required including some basic janitorial duties

Must be able to plan and organize work in an efficient manner and work independently
Ability to effectively assist with multiple room sets and cleaning projects

Indoors, in an office space, event space, or public space are protected from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes. Incumbents may nearly continuously sit and often use repetitive hand motion (such as typing).
Outdoors, incumbents may not be protected from weather conditions and may be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold. Bending, crawling, and crouching may be required. Incumbents may be required to lift, push, and/or pull objects up to 50 pounds and be required to walk and/or stand for long periods of time.
